Ich lebe nun schon seit fast 2 Jahren hier in San Antonio, war auch schon zu Eurem Oktoberfest und habe nun die Frage gibt
es eigentlich auch eine Gruppe von jungen Leuten, die sich von Zeit zu Zeit treffen, naja vielleicht hier ueber das Gaestebuch, 
falls sich also jemand angesprochen fuehlt, hier meine email s_barnes66@hotmail.com,  es waehre ja schade wenn die Deutschen

Thank you for a wonderful time last Friday night!
While there I met a wonderful woman who is a long-time member of your organization... She told me that she was 84 years old,
and that she was originally from Bavaria. She even introduced me to her daughter - who was just back from Afghanistan...
She told me so much, but I could never hear her name (the band was playing, people were talking, etc)...can someone help me?
I would like to send her a thank you card for her kindness.

Hallo, liebe Sängerinnen und Sänger vom Beethoven Männerchor,
ich besuchte einige Euerer Feste und habe liebe Mitglieder in euerem Verein kennengelernt, besonders bei den Frauen.
Vor kurzem fand ich eine Geschäftskarte mit dem Namen Trudy Dannhardt, aber sie ist nicht mehr in San Antonio. Zufällig fand
ich ihren Namen im Internet. Sie schreibt Bücher (Romane) von denen ich mir gleich drei bestellte. Einfach Klasse, kann sie nur
empfehlen. Mit Trudy habe ich wieder Kontakt aufgenommen, sie lebt jetzt in Ottawa, Canada.
Ihre Bücher sind unter Voss@Vossverlag.com erhaltbar, oder in jedem Buchgeschäft in Deutschland.

Hallo aus Thüringen in Deutschland. Wir waren zwar erst ein Mal im Beethoven aber die Feier zur Fiesta war sehr schön. Wir werden

Hey hallo...jetzt muss ich aber auch endlich mal hallo sagen!
1998 war ich einige male bei euch im Beethoven Maennerchor. ich war von mai bis september in der Defense Language Institute auf
der LACKLAND AIR FORCE BASE stationiert. das war eine super zeit dort....viele fotos erinnern mich immer daran wie toll das 
monatliche event bei euch war. schön gefeiert und nette menschen kennengelernt. das riesen paulaner blechschild das ich von euch
geschenkt bekommen habe hägt jetzt in meiner garage und erinnert mich immer an die schönen partys. ich weiss ja nicht ob immer noch
deutsche marine soldaten in san antonio sind...aber wenn ja schöne grüsse. so das soll erstmal reichen.....ich wünsche euch noch ganz

I must have driven past your place at least a dozen times and had NO IDEA you were there (in all fairness, I wasn't looking).
My parents are members of the Lakewood Maennerchor in N.J. and I've always liked going to the events. My wife was also raised
in Germany (Air Force brat) and we look forward to dropping in on you from time to time.

Hi. We heard the men's choir at the German Service at Trinity University last Sunday (Dec 11).  The service was beautiful and the choir
presented some very beautiful pieces.  I was impressed with the strength of the voices.  My wife and I live in Weimar, Texas which is
about 100 miles from San Antonio along I-10.  We want to become more familiar with the Beethoven Maennerchor and its activities and

While visiting in San Antonio, I was delighted to stumble onto your Kristkindlmarkt last Saturday. I thoroughly enjoyed the music. I had 
the most delicious Erbsensuppe and Gluehwein. The soup reminded me of my childhood in Utrecht, Holland. The night before, my son brought
me to the Halle for the First Friday event. What fun! I look forward to visiting San Antonio again and will include Beethoven Halle 
events in our plans. Will you be posting any pictures of 2005 Kristkindlmarkt?  I regret not having brought my camara!

Greetings!  My wife and I get to come to San Antonio every three years for her BSF International Institute.  One of the activities
we MUST do is attend the Beethoven Mannerchor First Friday, which we did this past July 15, 2005. The beer was great, as usual, 
even though no Shiner Bock was available and the place was so much fun, just to be there made us laugh with joy.  One of the things
we come for is the fantastic potato pancakes , but the lady who makes them could not come this time.  They are the best ones since 
the ones my wife's grandmother used to make, she says.  I played in a military band in New York in the late fifties and early sixties,
and it was a great pleasure for me to conduct the visiting Army band that night.  It brought back a lot of old memories. What a great
place!

Just found out about your web page from Perry and Gisela.  I hope you all know how lucky you are to have younger, vibrant
folks carrying on the German traditions.  Here in Cincinnati, the wave of immigration topped out in the mid-fifties and has
been dwindling since.  Not many retired or ex-military here, unfortunately, for I see that as your life's blood.  If I were
in San Antonio, I would assuredly join your organization.  I sang for some years with the Liederkranz in St. Louis, although
my singing voice has dropped from 1st Tenor to Baritone. (Also sang with the choir in Da Nang, Viet Nam.) Spent every second
Sunday from '85 to '91 on a five-hour German Music Broadcast here in Cinti. Ich wünsche euch alles gute mit eurer Gesellschaft,
und hoffe mal wieder nach San Antonio auf besuch zu kommen.  War da wohnhaft für 10 Monate in '57-'58.

My Parents, Leonard & Loretta Koll, were long time members of the Club and I plan to visit San Antonio early in 2005.
It is wonderful to see that the spirit of the Beethoven is living in the website.  I have some old picture of my parents
from the Maennerchor and the Board of Directors, would you have any interest in my sending some of them to you for posting
on the site?!  Do you have any historical pictures....those that used to adorn the Clubroom walls...that I might get copies
of for my memories?!

Hallo an Alle,
Ich bin Gisela, wohne seit 1970 in der Naehe von San Antonio, Texas, komme aber von Rheinland Pfalz. Will 
mich bei allen meinen guten deutschen Freunden und Bekannten bedanken fuer die schoene Beethoven Maennerchor
Unterstuezung. Es ist wirklich ein ganz toller Verein und um etwas aufzuklaeren, das in einer anderen Post
erwaehnt wurde es wurde wirklich in 1867 gegruendet von deutschen Immigranten. Ausser dem Maennerchor haben
wir auch einen Damenchor aber mit dem Maennerchor hat es in 1867 angefangen und wir wollen den Namen nicht 
aendern. Nochmals herzlichen Dank fuer Euren Besuch auf dieser Seite und kommt oft wieder. Die Bilder von 
der 2004 Weihnachtsfeier und Silvester werden auch bald erscheinen.

Es ist unglaublich. Da suche ich von Deutschland aus im WWW nach dem Text des Liedes 'O Mosella' und stoße auf eine
Seite in den USA! - Die Welt ist wirklich ein Dorf. Ich konnte das Schild auf der Homepage nicht gut lesen, steht da
'Gegründet 1867'oder 'Gegründet 1967'? Wie dem auch sei: Ich wünsche Ihnen weiterhin viel Erfolg und natürlich alles
Gute! Und vielen Dank für den Liedtext. Ich wohne übrigens im Ruhrgebiet. Wer es nicht weiß: das Ruhrgebiet liegt in
Westfalen und grenzt an's Rheinland, 50 km von Düsseldorf und 100 km von Köln entfernt... um genau zu sein: ich 
komme aus der Emscher-Lippe-Region. Bei uns im Pott (Ruhrgebiet) sagt man (zum Teil auch immer noch) zum Gruß das, 
was die Bergleute unter Tage sagten, wenn sie sich sahen: Glückauf! Ein bekanntes Lied aus unser Region hat 
folgenden Text: 
1. Glückauf, Glückauf, der Steiger kommt und er hat sein helles Licht bei der Nacht und er hat sein helles Licht bei
der Nacht schon angezünd', schon angezünd'. 
2. Schon angezünd' das gibt ein Schein und damit so fahren wir bei der Nacht und damit so fahren wir bei der Nacht ins

Habe gerade diese web page gefunden und diese ist einfach super.  Ich wohne seit einem Jahr in Corpus Christi und 
waere froh, wenn wir so einen Verein hier haetten. Ich war auch in Deutschland im Folkstanzverein (Folklore Gruppe 
Linsengericht)und wuerde liebend gerne dieses wieder tuen, aber leider ist San Antonio doch 2 Stunden
entfernt. (leider)

Hello and big greetings way over the ocean!
Sure thing, there is a big difference in landshape and clima, but... just a couple of 
hours ago I met 3 men right here at "Siefersheim" dressed as cow-boys, make'n
some county music, Hillbely? That reminded me to you. Beethofen Männerchor at San
Antonio,TX. Pictures started to run through my head. Right here those men, never had
been to TX! At your place every single one that came from over here, wraped by the
feelings of homesickness - oh my gosh... what a difference! 
The Beethofen Gesangverein. (May those ladies not sing along? "mens chorus only"?)
Your cute Pic's show different. Okay, a fantastic community, with all my respect to
what they are doing! I sigh a little bit, so, while I sit here in close connection
via the www to you, I sip and sin, with a beerstein (Fuchs, Windesheim) next to me,
You Are Great! It's a pleasure for me to give all of you my best regards and very
best wishes for your events!

Einfach toll, wie Ihr die Traditionen pflegt! Auf den Bildern kommt richtig zum
